About My Work

I’m Simon Gould and I am a Partner of Mourant Ozannes (Jersey) LLP in our Finance and Corporate practice group in Jersey and lead the firm's Financial Services team, working with colleagues in Jersey, Guernsey, Cayman and BVI.

I've been a Partner at the firm since 2000.

My financial services practice focuses on banks, financial institutions and other regulated businesses in Jersey, as well as private offices, cross-border businesses and transaction SPVs.

I specialise in providing advice on regulatory and AML issues, as well as business set-up, ongoing compliance and governance and restructuring transactions.

I worked closely with the Jersey financial regulator and Jersey government in the development of new regulatory regimes in the late 1990s/early 2000s, including the novel (at the time) regulation of trust company business which made Jersey a leader in setting standards in this area.

I have continued to be closely involved in the ongoing development of Jersey's AML and regulatory regimes ever since.
