About My Work

Sarah joined Bermans in June 2024 and is a Partner in our Employment team based in Manchester.

Sarah is an employment law specialist who qualified as a Solicitor in 2009. She adopts a personal approach with a significant focus on client care. Her main areas of work include:

Supporting SME’s with the full range of day to day employment advice from the start to the end of the employment relationship
Discrimination in the workplace with a particular specialism in disability discrimination including cancer-related discrimination.
Advising and supporting employers in respect of harassment including sexual harassment in the workplace.
Employment tribunal litigation
Director/Shareholder disputes
Advising and negotiating settlement agreements on behalf of employers and senior personnel.
Corporate support
Delivering in-house training within the workplace on topics such as Equality and Diversity, Harassment, Disciplinary and Grievances, Workplace investigations
Drafting and advising on restrictive covenants

Sarah’s clients include owner-managed SMEs, Directors, HR managers/professionals and Senior Executives. She works across an array of different sectors including manufacturing, educational establishments, NFP organisations and charities.

Sarah prides herself on understanding clients’ wider business and attitude to risk to provide tailored commercial legal advice.

Outside of work, Sarah enjoys watching and playing sport (F1, football), spending time with her family and travelling to new places.

She is a board member of Fortalice Limited – a charity close to her heart which supports those affected by domestic abuse.

She is also a Member of Employment Lawyers Association and was a finalist of the Solicitor of the Year award at the Law Society Excellence Awards (2015).
