Oliver Fitzpatrick is a recognised specialist in insolvency law, handling both corporate and personal insolvency matters. He primarily works with insolvency practitioners but also represents directors, creditors, lenders, stakeholders, and private individuals.

Oliver’s unique offering stems from his ability to manage both contentious and non-contentious insolvency cases. His expertise includes technical court applications, complex antecedent transactions, obtaining injunctive relief, asset realisation, and advising on officeholder appointments. He is known for providing sound, pragmatic advice in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Since qualifying in 2011, Oliver has become a highly regarded expert in insolvency law, growing both his professional network and his client base. He is a member of R3, the UK’s insolvency trade association.

Oliver prides himself of providing succinct, astute and commercial advice to all of his clients. Insolvency can be a tricky area to navigate at times, for a range of people affected and for a variety of reasons, and he ensures that he puts the needs and objectives of his clients at the forefront of all that he does. He has forged a respected reputation within the profession for his commitment to his clients and knowledge of the industry and law in the area.

Notable Experience

  • Acted for the joint trustees of a bankrupt to obtain the suspension of that individual’s discharge from bankruptcy as well as obtaining property and information pertinent to the bankruptcy.
  • Advised the joint administrators of a fintech company in realising its assets for the benefit of creditors, which involved applications to extend the administration in the interim.
  • Advising the joint trustees realise their interests in a wide property portfolio and which involved dealing with competing proprietary interests claimed by third parties.
  • Successfully pursued a director and their spouse for payments paid to them by their company which were held to be transactions at an undervalue pursuant to the Insolvency Act 1986.

Hobbies & Interests

With two young children who like to keep him on his toes, Oliver does not have as much spare time as he might otherwise like outside of work but when he does, he enjoys going to gigs and festivals. He’s also conformed to the stereotype and has just started to take up golf!
