About My Work

I am a partner in DLA Piper's Construction and Engineering group.

Prior to qualifying as a solicitor, I worked in house for a contractor for ten years in the construction and engineering sector advising on contracts and disputes. I was responsible for a wide range of infrastructure and offshore oil projects throughout the UK, Europe, USA, Hong Kong and China.

I have considerable expertise in building and engineering particularly in energy, infrastructure and development related projects. My expertise extends to advising on procurement strategies and the appropriate documentation to be adopted in order to implement those strategies and the required risk profile. In relation to the drafting of documents, I have prepared standard forms and bespoke construction and engineering contracts, professional appointments, parent company guarantees, bonds and collateral warranties. I advise institutions and funding organisations on a whole range of projects and as such have a detailed knowledge of the requirements of funders and institutional purchasers.
